David Mellenby was a wizard who died during World War II. He was scientifically inclined. He was a friend of Thomas Nightingale.[1]

According to Hugh Oswald, Mellenby tried to formulate a theory that could combine magic and Quantum theory. He had lots of foreign friends (both practitioners and scientists), which was unusual for wizards, specially in Germany. At the start of the war he felt personally betrayed by the Germans, since the Nazis made a lot of inhumane experiments on prisoners (men, women, and fae alike) based on his scientific theories.[2]
