The magic fight at the Pontypool Hotel took place between Albert Woodville-Gentle and Lady Helena Linden-Limmer on August Bank Holiday in 1979. The hotel was located in London’s Argyle Square. Lady Helena believed that Woodville-Gentle died during the fight, but it turned out that it wasn’t the case.[1]

After the authorities had ruled out that the destruction of the hotel wasn’t caused by a gas explosion, arson or the IRA, Thomas Nightingale was called to the site to investigate. By then the trail had gotten cold. Nightingale didn’t learn the truth until Lady Helena told it to him several years later.[2]
